Riders For Health
For over 20 years, Riders for Health has been providing motorcycles and mechanical expertise to health workers in Africa, enabling them to reach their patients with vital care and advice.
Mobilised with a reliable motorcycle that won’t break down, a health worker can reach up to six times more people than if they were travelling on foot or by bicycle.
Riders for Health is currently transforming access to health care for over 12 million men, women and children across Africa. But, with one in eight children estimated to die before they reach their fifth birthday, there is still so much we can do together.
-- £3 could buy a spark plug to keep a motorcycle engine running.
-- £10 could buy enough fuel to keep a health worker on the road and reaching their communities for a fortnight.
-- £25 could buy a tool kit for a health worker so that they can carry out basic maintenance on their vehicle before every trip.
-- £60 could provide a health worker with two-day’s training in road safety and off-road riding skills, keeping them safe when they travel to remote communities.
